The Manned Octocopter Project

Today we take technology for granted and do not realize the kind of impact it can make. About 4 years ago, when smartphones had just begun to infiltrate our lifestyles, students of the 2013 and 2014 batches decided to build something that would make waves among the educational community. They built a rocket powered by fertilizer and sugar that reached a height of 1km.
Here is a small pic of how terribly it failed the first time…
Their longing to get that rocket to fly to a height of 1km was so deeply engraved in their minds that they somehow managed to scrap the electronics from the crashed rocket due to financial and time restrictions and managed to send it up.
Hence, the backbone of CIPEC is determination. And this time we intend to achieve sustained manned flight. The Manned Octocopter idea started out as mere fascination with flight that Sahevaan shared with IB and A-Level students on CIPEC team. The project has come a long way since and two months later, we are here, to share the same fascination with you.
